Taking Metro Bus 460 to/from Disneyland.
Hi,
I would like to take the metro bus 460 to disneyland from LA downtown. After looking at the website, i found the boarding place(5th/Grand Ave) at downtown LA. But where must i alight at disneyland? Does it go just outside the entrance of disneyland?
And also when i want to go from disneyland back to downtown LA, where should i board the bus? Is it along W Manchester Ave?
Thank you.

The schedule says it will let you off on Harbor just outside Disneyland. Follow all the people to the entrance.
The schedule says northbound passengers should board on Harbor Blvd just north of the shuttle entrance to Disneyland. Ask the driver before you get off just to be sure.
It won't be Manchester..that's a station on the Freeway between downtown and Disney.
In case you didn't find the schedule, here it is

You can also try asking on the Anaheim forum which is where most Disneyland experts are.

Just so that you are aware, the #460 is a combination 'local/express bus" which stops often (although there is a portion of the route where it doesn't stop). There will be people getting on and off at every stop and there is no guarantee that you will get a seat for all or part of the trip. The route is not an especially pretty or interesting one. The transfer takes about 2 hours each way. It looks like you've chosen 5th & Grand as your boarding place by looking at a map of the route rather than by using the MTA "Trip Planner" system which will tell you the best stop to begin and end your journey. Here is the trip planner:
http://socaltransport.org/tm_pub_start.php
Enter the address of your starting point in downtown (your Hotel, etc) and the word DISNEYLAND as the ending point. The reason that 5th & Grand is not a good choice is that the 460 enters downtown and makes a loop and then starts on its way back to Disneyland. The 5th & Grand Station is on the portion of the loop that is heading INTO downtown whereas the stop at 6th St between Grand Av and Hope St (a 2-minute walk from 5th & Grand) is on the portion of the loop that is leaving downtown (several minutes after the 5th & Grand stop)..
Depending on where your starting point is (or, if you'd simply rather get to Disneyland more quickly), you can take a red line metro rail train (from any of its stations in downtown) to the last stop of the line, Union Station, (Fare is $1.25, ride takes a few minutes). Then, transfer to an above-ground train to Fullerton (only 35 minutes -- fares are between $3.50 and $9.50, depending on the day of the week, the train company you select and your age). From Fullerton, it's a 15-minute bus ride ($1.25) or a 10-minute taxi ride ($12) to Disneyland. All in all, the transfer takes about half as long as the 460 bus.
Complete, step-by-step directions for this transfer is in our FAQs section (a link at the top of the TOPIC LIST). Once there, click on 'Amusement Parks' and then look for Disneyland transfers via public transit.
Good luck!

Hi,
Thanks for all the reply.
I did look through the map on metro website. I thought Grand/5th st is the station where the bus is leaving downtown towards disneyland?
According to the bus schedule, Passengers should board northbound/westbound bus at the stop on harbor blvd, but i try to locate the bus stop via google map but can't find it. Just want to make sure that the bus stop is not too far.
Thank you.

There are no public bus stations in downtown LA. Line 460 picks up at several different stops throughout downtown, as shown on the route map (see PDF link in mlgb's post).
You'll probably want to get on at the bus stop at 7th & Flower, and use 7th & Figueroa to get off, both of which are next to the main subway station in downtown (7th/Metro). However, if you are staying at a downtown hotel, you may have a more convenient stop to use.

There will be bus STOPS on the sidewalks marked with posts and signs. On Google Maps, there are icons showing the bus stop locations. Nothing wrong with waiting on Fifth ( across from the Public Library) and just uphill from Grand.
For Anaheim, I believe the stop on Harbor is marked with a white x inside a black circle on that Pdf file. (see the inset box #2 on page 8).
I wonder if you would do better to take the train/bus combo TO Disneyland? Did you look into that?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yup.. i try to locate the bus stop using google map.
For Anaheim, i can locate the bus stop that i should alight when i reach disneyland. But i can't find the bus stop for me to go from disneyland to LA downtown. Do i take the bus from the same bus stop?
I would be able to take metrolink and then catch a bus to disneyland. But for my return journey, as i would like to stay late for the fireworks, i would not be able to catch the last metrolink or Amtrak to LA. Hence i am left with the option of taking bus.
Thank you.

Try using Satellite View on the Google Maps. You can see the bus stops on both sides of Harbor (near Millie's) I'm not sure which side of the street you would use. If you do take the train & bus, you'll come in the same side from Harbor. You can ask the bus/ shuttle drivers, or look around on Harbor before you go inside the park.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. According to google map bus 460 is not at the bus stop near Millie's. Think my best option is to ask the driver when i reach disneyland.
Thank you.

9. Re: Taking Metro Bus 460 to/from Disneyland.
If you use the METRO.NET website to plan your transfer, it will show you EXACTLY where the bus stop locations are. Here are the steps:
1. Go to http://socaltransport.org/tm_pub_start.php
2. Complete the screen using: 6th / Flower
(or whatever intersection or address you please) as your starting point)
and DISNEYLAND as your destination
3. Click 'Find Trips" at the bottom of the page.
4. If you're given several options for your starting point, select the one with the 90017 postal (zip) code. Select "Disneyland" if there are a number of similar options.
5. Click "Continue"
6. The 460 icon will appear. Click on the circle to the left of the word 'select'. The itinerary will appear. Click on the words:
DISNEYLAND EAST MAIN/E RDWY EXIT DRWY(SE corner)
A map will appear on the left side of the page showing the exact location of the bus stop.
7. To see the return trip, click on the link at the top of the same page that says "return trip". Alter the time on the page that follows and click "find trips". Continue as above.
8. On the itinerary page, click on:
HARBOR BLVD/DISNEYLAND EAST MAIN SHUTTLE ENT
The map at the left will appear indicating the location of the bus stop.
(If it were me, I'd take the train in at least one direction).
Good luck!
