From Khao San Road in Bangkok, is there a bus I can take to get to the following places?
1. The Suvarnbhumi airport
2. Siam Center/MBK
3. Chatuchak market
I am travelling alone and i find the organized tours pretty expensive for my budget. so any other travelling tips would be much welcome. I am staying on Rambuttri road.

1. Airport Express No AE2 Banglumpoo (Khao San) to BKK 150baht
2. Red Bus 15 will take you from Khao San Road to Siam Square.
3. Red Bus 3, Khao San Road to Mo Chit (the Northern Bus Terminal) about 7 baht (Next to the weekend market). Get a tuktuk for about 30 baht at mo chit. You could also take the15 bus then take the BTS Siam to Mo Chit and you would end up right outside the market.

- there are buses going to all of those places, but the bus system in BKK is pretty much only understood by people living there, and they are normally Thai people.
A metered taxi to MBK should cost a little over 100B, to Chatuchak, around 200, and there are many shared minibuses going to Suvanbhumi, which isn't really that overpriced, just shop around on Koh Sahn travel agencies. .
One thing to remember about Koh Sahn, is to walk away from the ends where the taxi vultures are and hail a cab on the main road one block away. Both ends of Koh Sahn, which you may be aware, is loaded with some of the most unscrupulous characters in all of Thailand who are known to at the minimum not use the meter, at the worst take you somewhere other than where you asked to go.
In my 4 years of living in Thailand, it has almost always been my experience that you are going to pay more for nearly everything on Koh Sahn than at other places like Silom and Sukhumvit.
But Koh Sahn has such a great feel and nightlife to it, therefore people still flock to it in droves.
Have a good time and never sit down in a taxi until you have first agreed that the driver is going to use the meter.
you can say "buurt meter mai krab" (if you are a man, end the sentence in "ka" if you are a woman. If the driver says "chai" or "khrab" that means he is going to use the meter.. if not, find another cab. However, the rules all change when it is raining. Funny country this is, sometimes.
Good luck!Source(s):
4 years of living in Thailand - Shuvanabhum airport....
Take 511 drop in sukumvit road anywhere ( 18 baht) and take 522 around 35 baht.
To siam square take 48 non-aircon (8 baht) it's around 1 hour ride.
And jatujak take 503 or 505 around 21 baht.
Look for Burgerking ...walk to the street way and take the bus from there.
GOod luck :)
