More... Inside the pre-show for Storm Rider. The ride itself is a lot like Star Tours or Body Wars. Next to Storm Rider and Aquatopia passes the DisneySea Electric Railway __________________

Where to find tickets? Should I do a package or buy everything separately? What about transportation to/from the airport?? I'd like to do some research and see if we can swing something like this in the near future. Also, does Tokyo decorate for the Christmas holiday the way WDW does? Thanks for your help. __________________ |

Pricing a Tokyo Disney vacation can be done by any major travel agency. However, I decided to do it myself via the web and price things a la carte as our trip to Japan was to see more than just Tokyo Disney. HOTEL: We decided to stay at a hotel closer to Roppongi (ANA Intercontinental), which is an entertainment district in Tokyo that is popular with Westerners. However, if you want to stay nearer to the Resort, just check out the Tokyo Disney web site for hotel options...there are many and the info is in English. TICKETS: I opted to buy our tickets at the Park. It was very convenient, and we were able to get English maps and literature from Guest Relations. They spoke very good English, were very friendly, and a big help! TRANSPORTATION: There are buses that run from Narita Airport to the Resort hotels and other major hotels in Tokyo (if you stay off-site). You can purchase a ticket for the bus at the desk in the baggage claim area. I recommend this for first time visitors to Japan. If you have been to Japan before and are not staying at the Resort, I would consider the train. Public transportation in Tokyo is outstanding, and getting to Maihama Station (gateway to Tokyo Disney Resort) is not a problem. Here is the welcome sign at Maihama...you've arrived at Tokyo Disney Resort! HOLIDAYS: The Resort does have Holiday events...this year it will be "Christmas Fantasy" and "Harborside Christmas". I was there in the Spring, so I cannot say how the decorations compare with what you may be familiar with at WDW. __________________ Last edited by walt's assistant; 04-02-2009 at 09:26 AM.

On my first trip, I caught an express train to Tokyo Central and then had to change trains to get to where I was going. I had no idea where things were and stayed in a Japanese style hotel (Ryokan). The trouble was the hotel was on the other side of town and it took an hour and changing trains to get to and from the parks. Far too long when your tired. On my second trip I stayed in the "Palm and Fountain Terrace hotel" which has a Disney bus that takes you to the parks and returns to the hotel. They leave about every half hour or so and was about a 15 minute trip. This hotel is like the Swan and Dolphin in Walt Disney World, not owned by Disney. (they even had a bus service from the airport to the hotel) There are 5 official DISNEY hotels right around the parks. I have not stayed in them as the prices seemed a bit above my budget at the time. There is a monorail that I believe can take you to these hotels. I also bought my tickets at the gates. There are single day passes and a three day pass...with some restrictions. They don't have park hopping passes. I hope this helps. __________________ |

They do have "Fast Pass" for this very popular ride. Here is a picture of the mining car you will ride on your Journey. On a personel note, I'll be away for about three weeks, as I will be visiting Disneyland in California. __________________ |

And here's a picture of Mysterious Island..."Journey" is housed within the volcano, which erupts from time to time throughout the day. __________________ |
