I have found two good shopping places for electronics in Shanghai!
Metro City Mall in Xujiahui
The best place to shop for electronics goods in Shanghai is the Metro City Mall at Xujiahui. It is where you can buy electronics and still feel safe, because most stores offer warranties. They have 4 stories worth of cellphones, ipods, MP3 players, cameras, TVs, DVD players, chinese dictionaries and other electronic gadgets here. You can also haggle the price down here. First offer the lowest amount you can think of and work your way up.
How to get there: Take Metro Line 1, arrive at the station of Xujiahui stop. Metro City is right by Exit 9.
Baoshan Road
The electronics near Baoshan Road is another choice, by Metro Line 3 Baoshan Station. I am told that this is where you can get really cheap ipods. The thing about coming here is that these goods may be illegal so you have to watch out what you buy. Also, they do not come with warranty. Best to stick to Metro City.
