Narita airport hotels can save you a lot of stress when you're landing or leaving Tokyo. Finding out Narita airport is not actually in Tokyo at all but around 60km away means that an early morning or late evening flight can make it pretty difficult to get into the city itself. This is when a Narita airport hotel is just the ticket!
Narita town is actually a really lovely place to spend a little time if you get the chance. One of the most popular temples in Japan is here, Naritasan, and there are many cultural events and celebrations that go on here. So, not only can a stay here save you a lot of hassle, it's also a lot of fun : )

Which Narita airport hotels should you stay in?

You can choose to stay either at Narita town or right by the airport. It's up to you. If you stay in Narita town you're just one station away from the airport on the Keisei line. It's only around 10 minutes to the airport. If you're by the airport then you'll just need to get a hotel bus to the right terminal for your flight. There are 2 terminals at Narita so make sure to check.

  • Narita Airport Rest House Hotel, Tokyo - in the airport grounds. If you're landing late or leaving early this hotel is a good choice. Located in the grounds of the airport you have all the action right on your doorstep and don't have to worry about getting to or from Tokyo Narita airport. The downside at last check was no internet in your room. There is an internet lobby but it's nothing special. Because it's one of the older hotels in this area don't expect all the mod cons.
  • Narita U-City Hotel, Tokyo - a couple of minutes from JR Narita town train station. The Narita U-City Hotel is in a good spot if you want to stay near Narita Town and do a little exploring around Naritasan and the surrounding area. You can walk to the hotel from either the Narita Express station or the JR station - the JR station is closer.
  • Mercure Narita Hotel, Tokyo - also very close to JR Narita town train station. A few minutes walk from the JR Keisei Line, this hotel also gives you great access to Narita Town and the nearby temple and gardens. There are buffet lunch and dinner options on the ground floor and a bar with a pool table if you fancy chilling out.
  • Narita Winds Hotel, Tokyo - 5 - 10 minutes by free shuttle bus to Narita Airport. With larger than average rooms, at least for Japan, this is a comfortable hotel with good views of the airport and the planes if you like that sort of thing.
  • Crowne Plaza Hotel Narita, Tokyo - a good business hotel for Narita. If you're here on business the Crowne Plaza Hotel Narita has high speed internet access, secretarial services, and meeting rooms to support your needs. Located 10 minutes from the airport by bus, the hotel provides a free shuttle to take you there. The Aeon shopping center is about 5 minutes away by bus if you fancy a bit of shopping during your stay.
Do check the current status and amenities available at each of these Narita airport hotels before booking as sometimes things can change without notice.
