I did the planning myself. For the hotel, I decided to stay closer to Roppongi, which is a very popular entertainment district in Tokyo, rather than Tokyo Disney Resort. The public transportation in Japan is very good...you can go anywhere by train very easily (including Maihama Station, the gateway to Tokyo Disney Resort). As was mentioned earlier, Japan is very safe and people are exceedingly polite. Major hotels have staff that speak English. At Tokyo Disney, maps and brochures are available in English...you pick them up and get other info as needed at Guest Relations.

Yes, that is McDonalds at Narita airport.

At a Train Station in Tokyo. The signs do have English on them so it's not as hard as you can imagine.

Once on the train, the doors close and there is an automatic anouncement in English and Japanese to where the train is going and the next stop. Just before the train pulls into each station the anouncement comes on again to tell you what station you are about to arrive in and where this train will be going, (in English and Japanese)

The trains can be very crowded during rush hour. They run on time (you can set your watch by them) and run often and are very orderly. In the front car there is a window where you can watch the driver which is an experiance. I suspect the drivers must be video recorded because they point to all the signs to acknowlege they have looked and seen them. They are uniformed and where white gloves, very neat and clean.

We planned our trip ourselves. We were able to book our hotel online directly through the hotel's website. We stayed at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku. It's a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel and provide a free shuttle to/from Disney. The downsides, though, were you had to reserve your seats for both ways and it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to Disney. So I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to multiple days at Disney. Otherwise, it's a great hotel. Our reservation included a breakfast buffet every morning, and the hotel is only a couple of blocks from Shinjuku station. Trains/Metro are the best way and, probably, the fastest to get around the city.

Part of the lobby of Keio Plaza Hotel:

The view from our room. I think we were on the 28th floor.

So true! McD's are everywhere over there. I swear there were at least a half dozen within a block of our hotel. We actually found a Wendy's on our last day in Tokyo.

I'm glad your enjoying them. Really Tokyo DisneySea is the best kept secret. This is one park that is so well themed you'll spend the day experiancing a very new and very Disney experiance.

Disneyland California, Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland are all different and great parks. But if you have been to any one of them you will recognise so many things in the others, which is good if you want to experiance Disneyland again.

Tokyo DisneySea is Unique sort of like the WDW Animal Kingdom is Unique. Very Different than any other theme park in the whole world and yet has the magic of Disney.

I'd say Tokyo DisneySea should be on everyones list of MUST SEE locations in the world.

Scrooge McDuck has his own Department Store.

Some more themeing in a different store.
