Tokyo Disneyland
Tokyo Disneyland was the first official Disney site to open outside the United States back in 1983.
Tokyo Disneysea was opened on September 4 in 2001 to help cope with the number of visitors to this popular location. Add to that the addition of Cirque Du Soleil and their Zed Theater on October 1 2008 and you truly have an amazing entertainment district for Disney and fantasy fans.
Getting To And Around Tokyo Disney
Getting to Disneyland Tokyo is relatively easy whichever direction you're coming from.
We've covered getting here from different parts of the city as well as coming in from Tokyo International Airport.
Once you get inside the grounds you've got some fun ways of travel to choose from. Some areas are walkable but if you're planning on covering a lot of ground, particularly if you have little ones with you, you'll need to choose one of these.
Tokyo Disney Tickets
Tokyo Disney tickets come in different shapes and sizes depending how long you want to stay here and what you want to do.
There are discount tickets available for large groups and for senior citizens with children aged 3 or under getting in for free.
Disneyland Tokyo
Disneyland Tokyo is the original site for Disney in Tokyo and hosts the seven original Kingdoms: World Bazaar, Tomorrowland, Toontown, Fantasyland, Critter Country, Westernland, and Adventureland.
Be warned this is a popular destination for Japanese tourists as well as international visitors and can get very crowded during major events, at weekends and on National Holidays.
If the grounds reach maximum capacity then same day tickets that are sold at the gates will be withdrawn. If you're traveling here during peak seasons or on popular days we'd highly recommend booking in advance to save any disappointment.

Tokyo Disneysea
As the name suggests, Tokyo Disneysea is dedicated to all things H2O.
Instead of lands, here you have seven ports to choose from. The names give you a clue about what to expect at each one: Mediterranean Harbour, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, and American Waterfront.
Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels
Finally there are, of course, the renowned Tokyo Disney Resort hotels. There are 3 inside the grounds for you to choose from: Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel.
If you're on a budget then you may want to choose a Tokyo hotel that is nearby rather than an official Disney hotel. We've got links to both for you so you can make the best choice for your Tokyo vacation.
