Victory Monument to Suvarnabhumi ; 551 bus across McDonald's

the cheapest way is 20 baht from the mini busses at victory monument...

Getting to the airport with my checked bags and carry on luggage, for 20 baht in a mini-van from Victory Monument, may or may not be possible; I will stay with the comfortable and roomy train.

I was at Victory Monument today and verified the fare for taking a mini-van to Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is 40 baht, not 20 baht. These mini-vans leave from the same location as the number 551 bus, when it starts its run to the Transportation Center, (airport). This is the north east part of the roundabout, across the street from the McDonald's restaurant. The mini-vans look like they would be an alright way to go, as long as you don't have too much luggage. Otherwise, you may end up having to buy a seat for your bags as well, (there are no roof racks on these vans), depending on how much luggage your fellow riders have. Possibly, most of the people who take these mini-vans to the airport are people who work there. The 551 bus runs regularly from the same location, so if you have luggage, you might want to go for the bus.

Currently, at 45 baht from Phaya Thai station, I think the train is the best way to go, for reasons cited above in this thread.
